This summer, law students, attorneys, and legal advocates from around the country are joining together to unf*ck the law. From July 7–9, 2023, People’s Parity Project (PPP) will convene our progressive community for three days of policy deep dives, skills trainings, and networking sessions — all dedicated to growing the movement of legal professionals committed to unrigging the law and building a legal system that values people over corporate profits. We’re delighted to be joined by Madiba Dennie as our keynote speaker and other speakers and panelists who will be covering everything from unionizing legal workplaces to how to organize for state courts that work for people, not corporate profits.
Join us on Friday, July 7th through Sunday, July 9th at the Eaton Hotel in Washington, DC (located at 1201 K Street NW).
The Convening is an opportunity for progressive law students, attorneys, and advocates to join in our mission to build a better legal system. PPP has three main goals through the event:
Register to join practicing attorneys, legal advocates, and law students for a weekend of networking, policy deep dives, skills trainings, and more. Together, we’re building a movement to unf*ck the law—see you there.
Holding an event on this scale is an expensive undertaking. Including the cost of securing rental space, providing food, inviting speakers, covering travel sponsorships for a subset of law student organizers, and other miscellaneous expenses, we expect to spend $500 per attendee. Sponsorships help us cover some of this cost and we rely on ticket sales to cover a portion of the event expenses; however, we don’t want cost to be a barrier for anybody interested in joining the movement to unf*ck the law.
Ticket prices are thus only suggestions; if you are interested in attending, but cannot afford the suggested amount, please email hello@peoplesparity.org to secure a discounted or free ticket.
A full program for the 2023 Convening will be posted when available.
