Arresting Judges is a Five-Alarm Fire

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 25 2025
The following statement is attributable to Molly Coleman, executive director of the People’s Parity Project:
“Today, a judge was arrested for how they chose to run their courtroom. This is something that happens in authoritarian regimes, not in the United States.
“We are in a crisis, and our democracy is in serious danger. This is an undeniable erosion of democracy and a dramatic escalation of Donald Trump’s attack on the rule of law. Now is the time for everyone to stand up: lawyers, universities, Congress, and the Supreme Court. The opportunity to fight for the preservation of our democracy is slipping away; we must take action now, before it is too late.”
