People’s Parity Project 2025 Convening

June 27 @ 5:00 pm - June 29 @ 2:00 pm UTC-5

There has never been a more important time for pro-people, pro-democracy lawyers and law students to get organized. Maintaining the rule of law over the next three years and building a true, lasting, multiracial democracy on the other side of this presidential administration is going to require lawyers—lawyers to litigate, lawyers to reimagine systems, and lawyers to stand in solidarity with pro-democracy organizers and advocates across the country.

This is not a time to sit on the sidelines.

Whether you’re a long-time champion of democracy or someone who’s been newly called to action, this is a moment to get involved in new ways—to build new connections, learn new skills, and deepen your commitment to pro-democracy lawyering, in all of its forms, moving forward.

That’s why, this summer, PPP is bringing together law students, attorneys, and legal advocates from around the country to unf*ck the law.

From June 27–29, 2025 in Washington, D.C., PPP will convene our progressive community for three days of policy deep dives, skills trainings, networking sessions, featured speakers, and collective building—all dedicated to growing the movement of legal professionals committed to unrigging the law and building a true democracy and a legal system that values people over corporate profits.

We’re delighted to be joined by a number of leaders in the fight for democracy, including:

  • Justice Allison Riggs of the North Carolina Supreme Court;
  • Osita Nwanevu, author of the forthcoming “The Right of the People: Democracy and the Case for a New American Founding”;
  • Rhiannon Hamam, Peter Shamshiri, and Michael Liroff, hosts of the podcast “5–4”;
  • David Dayen, Executive Editor of The American Prospect;
  • Ciara Torres-Spelliscy, author of “Corporatocracy: How to Protect Democracy from Dark Money and Corrupt Politicians”;
  • Lisa Graves, author of the fortchoming “Without Precedent: How Chief Justice Roberts and His Accomplices Rewrote the Constitution and Dismantled Our Rights”;
  • Angus Johnston, historian of American student activism;
  • Sandra Solis, Project Coordinator of State Courts on the Power Map;
  • Nadine Smith, Executive Director of Equality Florida;
  • And many more to come!

In these difficult times, it is more important than ever for our community to come together to build solidarity and reaffirm our commitment to resisting autocracy and building a legal system that works for all people. We would love for you to be part of the conversation.

Don’t let cost be a barrier! If you are interested in attending and would like to learn more about receiving financial support to do so, reach out to hello@peoplesparity.org.
