More than 60 million workers have lost their right to sue their employer in public court if they get fired or face unlawful harassment on the job because they are subject to what’s known as a “forced arbitration agreement.” Forced arbitration (sometimes called “mandatory arbitration”) forbids people from bringing their case before a judge in a public courtroom. Instead, employees subject to forced arbitration are required to bring any legal complaints to a third-party arbitrator.
